Get involved
There are several ways that people can get involved in Making it Local:
Sign up to our e-newsletter If you would like to be kept up to date about our activities please contact us to be sent our e-newsletter.
Become a Project Appraiser
Making it Local requires two separate Appraisals of all projects seeking funding. This is to ensure that the project is given a fair assessment. The role of a Making it Local appraiser is to identify the pros and cons of projects before they go to the programme decision making group. We are interested in getting people who have expertise of working with projects and organisations to help us. Applications come in once a month and we require at least two appraisers for each application. Projects are appraised by using an appraisal form which helps appraisers assess the projects under certain criteria. Present appraisers have found the role very interesting and the projects submitted so far have been very diverse. If you are interested in becoming an appraiser please contact us.
Join our Consultative Advisory Group (CAG)
Attend our Update Events The CAG is made up of representatives of organisations and individuals from the area covered by the Making it Local Programme. It helps to steer the process for the Programme. The group meets twice yearly in the spring (March/April) and the autumn (September/October) at our update events. These update events provide the opportunity for people to see what we have been up to, which projects have been funded and a chance to ask questions etc. Anyone is welcome to attend. If you are interested in joining this group or attending the next update event please contact us.
Next Update Event: Next Steps 29th November 2011
Join our Programme Management Group (PMG)
The Programme Management Group (PMG) is the decision making body and managing group for the Making it Local Action Group. It is made up of people with a range of local skills, knowledge and interest needed to make the Programme work. The PMG will oversee the implementation of the programme including the final decision making on grant applications and delivery of outputs in line with the annual Delivery Plan and the overall Development Strategy. There is a mix of voting and non-voting members. The group meets once a month. For further information about the current PMG please visit the About us webpage.
